HiBy announced last Friday (27) that it will once again increase the price of its HiBy Digital M500 x Hatsune Miku DAPs (Digital Audio Players). The company released its statement two days after FiiO and Shanling revealed that they would raise the prices of their DAPs, as reported by Hi-Fi Hub. See below what the manufacturer stated and what to expect.
On March 27, HiBy announced on Chinese social media that it will increase the prices of the Wi-Fi and 4G versions of the M500 x Hatsune Miku. This is not the first time the company has decided to raise the price of this model.
Below is a screenshot of the statement published by HiBy last Friday.

In January of this year, the company had already reported a price adjustment for its DAPs. At that time, the price increased by US$50, as noted in the article published by Hi-Fi Hub.
The price of the M500 has changed again due to the continued increase in the cost of RAM chips and storage hardware. Below is the excerpt in which the manufacturer explains the reason:
“Recently, due to the impact of the global market environment, the prices of various memory chips and storage hardware have continued to rise, and supply chain costs have also increased significantly. We have made continuous efforts to absorb these cost pressures through internal optimizations; however, to ensure product quality and stable supply, the company has decided, after careful evaluation, to adjust prices.”
The price of the M500 x Hatsune Miku will increase by 200 yuan (approximately US$29). However, this applies only to the domestic retail market in mainland China. Prices for the international market typically differ and are generally higher than those in China.
HiBy Digital has not clarified whether prices will also increase outside China. However, considering the actions of its competitors (FiiO and Shanling), it is highly likely that prices in international markets will also be adjusted.

Starting April 1, the prices of the HiBy Digital M500 x Hatsune Miku will increase in mainland China.
The supply of memory chips has been highly volatile since 2025, resulting in unstable delivery timelines and stock shortages. For this reason, HiBy stated in its announcement that “the arrival time of new batches has not yet been clearly defined.”
Given that DAP production is being affected by component shortages, HiBy issued the following recommendation to its customers:
“We recommend that users who intend to purchase the product plan ahead and make purchases according to their needs to avoid disruptions in usage.”
Although HiBy Digital has adjusted the price of only one model, other DAPs from the brand may also undergo price increases in the near future. The same may occur with Digital Audio Players from brands such as iBasso, Onix, and Tempotec.
