The Moondrop Pudding was officially launched today (May 20) in both the international market and mainland China. This is Moondrop’s first sub-$50 TWS model to feature a different form factor compared to products such as the Space Travel 2. The main highlights of the Pudding are its battery life and support for the Moondrop app’s Parametric Equalizer (PEQ). Below are all the details about this new Moondrop true wireless in-ear model.

Update (October 1): The Moondrop Pudding is now available from Moondrop’s official store on AliExpress.

Pudding introduces a new shell design, larger battery, and PEQ support

Moondrop has redesigned the standard form factor adopted in the vast majority of its TWS earphones. In addition to the new body shape of the true wireless in-ear model, the shell volume has increased, allowing for the inclusion of a larger battery. Furthermore, users can access a Parametric Equalizer (PEQ) through the Moondrop app.

Below are further details regarding the features mentioned above and more.

Battery life nearly doubled

Compared to the Space Travel 2, the Pudding offers nearly double the battery life. The Pudding is capable of delivering up to 12.5 hours of continuous playback, while the Space Travel 2 provides only 7 hours of battery life, approximately 44% less than Moondrop’s new TWS model.

The increased battery capacity was made possible by the redesigned shell structure of the Pudding.

New shape promises improved fit and comfort

With its new form factor, the Moondrop Pudding is designed to provide improved fit and comfort compared to other models from the brand. Although it is noticeably bulkier in the ear, the larger contact surface improves grip and stability during use.

The new shell design of the Pudding enabled the implementation of a larger battery. However, for some reason, Moondrop opted for a smaller dynamic driver than the one used in the Space Travel 2.

Dynamic driver with nano-titanium crystal dome

The driver used in the Moondrop Pudding features a nano-titanium crystal dome diaphragm. Its diaphragm measures 10 mm in diameter, which is three millimeters smaller than the driver used in the Space Travel 2. However, it remains unclear how this difference will affect the sound performance.

Fortunately, if users are not satisfied with the Pudding’s sound signature, it can be easily adjusted thanks to the built-in Parametric Equalizer (PEQ).

Support for a 10-band PEQ

Thanks to support for the Moondrop app, the Pudding can be equalized using a 10-band Parametric Equalizer (PEQ). However, this is not the only feature available in the application developed by the manufacturer of this true wireless in-ear model.

The Moondrop app allows users to select a target frequency response curve in an attempt to achieve a familiar sound signature. In addition, through the “Sound Target ID” (STI) feature, generated using data from the “Online Interactive DSP” [1], users can create a personalized sound preference profile.

[1] “Online Interactive DSP” is a platform designed to apply equalization settings and share saved EQ profiles through a social network integrated into the Moondrop app.

Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)

Through a technology called “RT-Adaptive Noise Cancelling,” the Pudding performs automatic optimizations and applies real-time adjustment updates. According to Moondrop, this enables stable ANC performance across a variety of usage scenarios.
