The Tangzu Li Jing was launched in the international market last Thursday (July 30). The new open-back over-ear headphone features a 60 mm dynamic driver with a nickel-alloy diaphragm. Its construction combines natural zebrawood, 3D-printed components, and anodized metal. Below are all the details about Tangzu’s latest release.

Li Jing Combines Traditional and Modern Design

The Li Jing combines traditional and modern elements in its construction. Tangzu’s new headphone uses natural zebrawood (Microberlinia brazzavillensis) for its earcups, along with 3D-printed plastic components. At the center is the “Tang” logo, made of anodized metal.

To provide adequate durability, the headband is made of stainless steel. However, it features only a padded section to support the over-ear headphone on the head. In my opinion, a suspension system with a synthetic leather strap would have been a better choice, as this type of design tends to be more comfortable, particularly considering that the headphone weighs 408 g.

Dynamic Driver with a Nickel-Alloy Diaphragm

Thanks to its large 60 mm diaphragm, the Li Jing is designed to deliver a spacious soundstage. Its dynamic driver uses a blue nickel-alloy dome combined with a PET surround.

According to Tangzu, the nickel alloy used in the Li Jing’s diaphragm provides “excellent rigidity and transient response, delivering stable, powerful, and dynamic bass.” The PET surround, in turn, contributes to the reproduction of “delicate, smooth, and transparent mid-to-high frequencies without harshness.”

With a Balanced Yet Fun Sound, Li Jing Promises an Immersive Experience

According to Tangzu, the Li Jing’s sound tuning was developed with the following objective:

“A balanced acoustic signature that combines authority with refinement, establishing a fun yet reference-grade sound.”

Detachable Cable System with 3.5 mm Connectors

To facilitate cable replacement, Tangzu opted for a detachable cable system with 3.5 mm connectors. This makes it easy to replace the cable with a higher-quality model or if intermittent contact develops as a result of normal wear.

The Li Jing’s stock cable uses a balanced 4.4 mm plug, allowing users to obtain the maximum possible power output from a headphone amplifier.

Two Pairs of Ear Pads for Improved Comfort and Sound

The Li Jing comes with two pairs of ear pads in the box: one pair made of synthetic protein leather and another made of suede.
