The Snowsky OAK NANO was officially launched today (May 23) in mainland China. It is a single dynamic driver in-ear monitor (IEM) featuring a beryllium alloy diaphragm. Its housing is made of pure titanium, and the included cable adopts a modular design, offering greater flexibility for different use scenarios.
In addition to all of the highlights mentioned above, the OAK NANO also supports an optional USB-C plug that enables the use of an 8-band parametric equalizer (PEQ). Check out all the details about this new Snowsky release below.
Update (May 28): The Snowsky OAK NANO is now available through FiiO’s official AliExpress store.
According to FiiO CEO and founder James Chung, the OAK NANO was originally intended to be named FD17 as the successor to the FiiO FD7. The main highlights of Snowsky’s new IEM are its dynamic driver (DD) with a beryllium alloy diaphragm, its pure titanium housing, and its 8-band parametric equalizer (PEQ).
In addition to the features mentioned, Snowsky’s new single-DD in-ear monitor also includes a set of 22 pairs of ear tips and a carrying case inspired by a wristwatch box. Below are further details regarding these features and more.

There is a specific reason why the OAK NANO uses a dynamic driver with a beryllium alloy diaphragm. Its predecessor, the FD7, utilized a pure beryllium dynamic driver. However, according to James Chung, the FD7 was eventually discontinued due to supply chain issues involving the material.
The founder of FiiO explained the new OAK NANO driver as follows:
“Although the OAK NANO does not use pure beryllium, we found a beryllium alloy diaphragm that is extremely close to the characteristics of pure beryllium. Unlike diaphragms that are merely coated with beryllium, this alloy delivers performance much closer to the original material, resulting in excellent technical performance and sound signature.”

During the development of the OAK NANO driver, the engineering team decided to continue using beryllium as the foundation of the diaphragm material. The reason lies in the properties of beryllium itself, which provides exceptional rigidity and low mass, making it superior to aluminum and titanium in terms of acoustic performance. The metal offers low distortion and high propagation speed, making it a preferred material for high-quality speaker drivers.

The OAK NANO housing is made from high-density pure titanium. Its shell is manufactured using CNC machining, PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating [1], and mirror polishing.
[1] Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) coating consists of applying thin metallic or ceramic films onto surfaces, creating a layer resistant to wear, corrosion, and scratches.

By using the USB-C connector included with the OAK NANO’s modular cable, users can apply customized equalization through an 8-band PEQ. Equalization can be configured through the FiiO Control app for Android and through the web version of the same software. This allows the feature to be used on Android smartphones and PCs.
Note: According to the developer, the iOS (iPhone) version of FiiO Control does not support PEQ. Additionally, according to the manufacturer, UAC1 is currently unsupported, preventing the USB-C plug from being used with consoles such as the PlayStation 5 (PS5) and Nintendo Switch.

To better align with different user sound preferences, Snowsky provides multiple interchangeable nozzles and ear tips.
There are two nozzle options available. The red nozzle features a filter that delivers deep and impactful bass, making it ideal for pop and rock music. Meanwhile, the black nozzle offers brighter and more transparent treble reproduction, making it more suitable for genres such as classical and instrumental music.

To provide the best possible fit and sound performance, the OAK NANO includes a set of 22 pairs of ear tips. In addition, three different types are included, each featuring distinct shapes and materials. The accessory package contains the FiiO HS20, FiiO HS18, and SpinFit CP360 models.
