FiiO M21: DAP Gets a New Black Color Option

The FiiO M21 gained a new color option for purchase today (20). When it was launched, the Digital Audio Player (DAP) was available in two color options: Dark Blue and Titanium Gold. Now, the FiiO M21 can also be purchased in black.

Following the decision to release the JM21 in black, FiiO has now done the same with the M21. Personally, I find the result very attractive for both models, although I understand that this is a matter of personal taste.

The FiiO M21 originally arrived in Dark Blue and Titanium Gold, showing that the company had decided to move away from the classic black color. However, many consumers requested that the manufacturer bring back the black option for its Digital Audio Players.

About the FiiO M21

Officially launched on April 27, 2025, the FiiO M21 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC (System on a Chip) and runs Android 13. Its internal hardware features four Cirrus Logic CS43198 DACs (Digital-to-Analog Converters), which operate in conjunction with two Texas Instruments (TI) OPA1692 OP-AMPs (operational amplifiers) and two dual SG Micro SGM8262-2 OP-AMPs.

To ensure smooth performance, the M21 is equipped with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. With a 4000 mAh lithium-ion battery, the DAP delivers a maximum battery life of up to 15 hours when using the 3.5 mm single-ended (SE) output. When using the 4.4 mm balanced output, battery life is reduced to 12.5 hours.

It is important to note that enabling Wi-Fi further reduces the M21’s battery life by several hours, depending on the applications in use and the optimizations applied by the Digital Audio Player’s firmware.
