The FiiO EH11 was officially launched today (the 16th). The announcement was made through FiiO’s official profiles on the social media platforms Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter). In the post announcing its new Bluetooth on-ear headphones, the manufacturer emphasized that the product features a compact retro design with wooden ear cups. Below, you can find all the details about the EH11.
According to FiiO, the design of the EH11 was inspired by compact on-ear headphones from the 1980s. The new on-ear model from the popular Digital Audio Player (DAP) manufacturer features a body made primarily of translucent plastic, with an adjustment system based on sliding a thin metal plate. This appearance is similar to that of the on-ear headphones that accompanied the first Sony Walkman (TPS-L2), which played cassette tapes.

As can be seen in the image above, the headphones used by Sony had a version with orange foam pads. Coincidence or not, the EH11 also uses foam pads in the same color.

It is important to note that the ear pads are replaceable and available in several color options.

Even though simple materials are employed, the wooden finish on the ear cups adds an appealing aesthetic that, in my opinion, is more refined than that of the Moondrop Old Fashioned, released in November 2025. Furthermore, the FiiO model is even more interesting for being wireless, offering greater freedom of use.

However, not everything is perfect. Unfortunately, the EH11 is not foldable like the well-known Koss Porta Pro. Personally, I do not consider this a major drawback, since FiiO’s Bluetooth on-ear headphone is lightweight (92 g) and can be comfortably worn around the neck.

The EH11 not only supports Bluetooth 6.0 and the LDAC codec, but also introduces innovative control mechanisms. By rotating the right ear cup, the user can move forward or backward through the tracks of the album being played. By rotating the left ear cup, it is possible to control the playback volume.
To pause or resume music playback, the user simply needs to press once the button located on top of the right ear cup of the EH11. The same command is also used to answer phone calls.
In the image below, you can see other commands that can be performed.

On-ear headphones are already relatively scarce in the market, and most of them feature a closed-back design. In order to maintain good sound quality, FiiO decided to adopt a semi-open design in the EH11, delivering a frequency response close to the 2018 Harman target curve.

If the listener does not appreciate the default sound signature of the FiiO EH11, it is possible to create a custom equalization through the FiiO Control app.

There are also preset equalization profiles for musical genres such as pop, jazz, and classical music. Interestingly, FiiO also included an equalization profile developed specifically for gaming, which, according to the company, “improves the perception of footsteps and gunshots.”
