The Bowers & Wilkins 707 Prestige Edition was launched today (the 21st) and features “many of the same technologies found in the 800 Series Diamond loudspeaker range,” according to the manufacturer. If you are not familiar with them, the B&W 800 Series Diamond loudspeakers, identified by the letter “D” in their model names, are used by many renowned recording studios around the world. Below, you can find all the details about the brand’s latest release.

What does the B&W 707 Prestige Edition have to offer?

According to Ian Collen from the website AVForums, the Bowers & Wilkins 707 Prestige Edition “does not represent a radical change compared to previously released models.” He states that the idea was to “incorporate even more technologies drawn from products such as the 705 S3 Signature, which already employed solutions from the 800 Series Diamond.”

The standard B&W 707 model was launched in 2022. The Prestige Edition retains the same configuration as the original two-way bass-reflex design, featuring a 25 mm carbon dome tweeter working in conjunction with a 130 mm mid-bass driver that uses a Continuum cone and a curved baffle.

According to Bowers & Wilkins, the difference of the 707 Prestige Edition lies in the careful selection of components from the 705 S3 Signature. This allows for improved loudspeaker performance, delivering greater resolution and a larger soundstage, as stated by the manufacturer. Below is the excerpt that describes the use of these parts in the new bookshelf model:

“The 707 Prestige Edition adds the carefully optimized high-frequency tweeter grille mesh and the upgraded, low-loss speaker terminals used in the award-winning 705 S3 Signature.”

The finish called “Santos Gloss” of the 707 Prestige Edition is “inspired by the Santos Rosewood chosen for the 805 D3 Prestige Edition,” according to the company. The paintwork is created using 12 layers of paint and lacquer. On the rear, there is also a nameplate bearing the speaker’s name.

The B&W 707 Prestige Edition loudspeakers are now available for £1,550 / €1,750. It is important to note that the standard B&W 707 S3 model was priced at £1,300 / €1,500 at its launch.
