The Tangzu Li Zhi was officially launched last Thursday (April 29). It is Tangzu’s flagship in-ear monitor (IEM), featuring as its main highlight a 10 mm dynamic driver with a diaphragm made from “evaporated diamond crystal.” In addition, the Li Zhi features an elegant gold faceplate with an embossed dragon design. Below are the details of this new release.
The Li Zhi’s aesthetics are highly striking. With its embossed golden dragon design, the faceplate is likely to outshine any other earphone on the table. However, the true highlight of Tangzu’s TOTL (Top Of The Line) IEM is its diamond diaphragm driver.

According to Tangzu, the Li Zhi’s diamond diaphragm is made from “evaporated diamond crystal.” The manufacturing process involves chemical vapor deposition (CVD), which produces polycrystalline diamond films. The crystal structure is formed under low pressure through hot filament chemical vapor deposition (HFCVD) or microwave plasma chemical vapor deposition (MPCVD). Methane and diatomic hydrogen gases are used in this process.
By employing this composition, the diaphragm achieves 40% greater rigidity compared to drivers using DLC (diamond-like carbon) diaphragms. According to the manufacturer, this results in improved sound resolution and a significant reduction in unwanted vibrations in the dynamic driver.

To house the diamond diaphragm dynamic driver, the Li Zhi uses a stainless steel shell. The manufacturing process of the main body involves high precision, utilizing multiple coating layers combined with high-precision electroforming. According to the developer, this ensures strong acoustic stability while also contributing to a lighter overall weight for the IEM.
The Li Zhi’s faceplate is made of zinc alloy and treated with vacuum coating. According to the company, this provides high resistance to oxidation, preserving the embossed dragon design over time.

Inside the Li Zhi’s packaging, Tangzu includes six sets of ear tips to provide the best possible listening experience. These are:
• Tang Sancai
• Tang Sancai Narrow Bore Version
• Tang Sancai Wide Bore Version
• HE Sonic
• HE Sonic Galaxy Edition
• Divinus PRISM Wide Bore

• Cable length: 1.2 m
• Cable: Furukawa silver-copper alloy conductors with 150D high-tensile-strength braided covering
• Connectors: 0.78 mm 2-pin
• Driver: single 10 mm dynamic driver with diamond diaphragm
• Frequency response: 20 Hz – 20,000 kHz
• Impedance: 18 Ω ± 15% @ 1000 Hz
• Sensitivity: 107.5 dB ± 3 dB @ 1000 Hz
The Tangzu Li Zhi is now available for US$579 at Tangzu’s official store on AliExpress. As promotions are frequently offered, the price may be lower.
