The Snowsky Echo Nano was launched today (May 8) in mainland China. Featuring a design inspired by the Sony Walkman NW-A608, the new DAP (Digital Audio Player) is even more compact and lightweight than the Echo Mini. However, unlike the “Mini,” the “Nano” features an aluminum-magnesium alloy chassis, offering a more premium finish. Below are all the details about this new release from Snowsky, FiiO’s sub-brand.

Update (May 21): The Snowsky Echo Nano is now available on the international market for US$52.56 through the official FiiO store on AliExpress.

Update (June 2): The “NEST-ECHO NANO PC” clip-on case designed for the Snowsky ECHO NANO is now available on the international market for US$8.92 (2-pack) through FiiO’s official AliExpress store.

Echo Nano is Snowsky’s most compact and lightweight DAP

Despite its metal construction, the Echo Nano is lighter (33.5g) than the plastic-built Echo Mini (55g). In addition, the “Nano” is narrower (2cm) than the “Mini” (5.4cm), although both devices are approximately 8cm long.

Color options for every taste

The Echo Nano is available in seven different color options. It is difficult to imagine that users would not find at least one appealing. Below is an image showing all versions of Snowsky’s new DAP.

Clip accessory for attaching to clothing

By using the accessory called “NEST-ECHO NANO PC,” users can attach the Echo Nano to clothing or bags. However, the accessory is not included in the DAP’s box by default and is sold separately on the international market for US$8.92 (2-pack).

USB DAC functionality

The Echo Nano features USB DAC functionality. Through USB DAC mode, the device can be used with smartphones or computers to achieve improved sound quality. However, it has not been specified whether the DAP supports UAC1 compatibility for use with Nintendo Switch and PS5 consoles.

Support for headphones with inline controls

Playback and volume on the Echo Nano can be controlled through the inline remote integrated into headphone cables.

Battery life

The Echo Nano offers only 7 hours of battery life, less than half of the 15 hours provided by the Echo Mini. This was already expected, as the “Nano” is significantly more compact than the “Mini,” leaving limited internal space for the battery. While the Echo Mini features a 1100mAh battery, the Echo Nano is equipped with only a 360mAh battery.

Sufficient power for high-sensitivity, low-impedance headphones

The Echo Nano delivers 120mW of output power at 32 ohms, exceeding the single-ended (SE) output power of the Echo Mini (100mW). Note that the “Nano” features only a 3.5mm output, whereas the “Mini” includes both a single-ended output and a balanced 4.4mm output.

Storage capacity

The Echo Nano supports microSD cards with capacities of up to 256GB. It is likely that the device retains the same 8,192-track limitation found on the Echo Mini.
