The ONIX Overture XM5 Titanium was officially launched today (7). The “Titanium” version of the XM5 is a limited edition that introduces several improvements compared to the original model. The changes implemented by Onix go beyond the titanium chassis, also enhancing the amplification section of the Digital Audio Player (DAP). See all details below.
The titanium chassis of the XM5 limited edition undoubtedly provides a more premium appearance to the DAP. However, this is not the only change introduced by Onix in this version of the portable music player.

In response to user feedback on the original model, the output impedance has been reduced in the XM5 Titanium to deliver improved performance with certain in-ear monitors (IEMs). This adjustment specifically benefits IEMs with complex crossovers and non-linear impedance curves, which may otherwise experience sound distortion when driven by sources with higher output impedance.
To reduce the output impedance of the XM5, the Titanium version replaces the Texas Instruments TPA6120A2 op-amps with a pair of Analog Devices AD8397 amplifiers. As a result, the XM5 Titanium’s amplification stage operates with an output impedance of just 0.5 ohms on the 3.5 mm single-ended (SE) output and 0.8 ohms on the 4.4 mm balanced output.
The titanium construction of the XM5 limited edition enhances the DAP’s durability while also providing improved shielding against interference. Additionally, the visual characteristics of the metal contribute to a more refined and elegant appearance compared to the original version.

With the launch of the XM5 Titanium, Onix also introduced two new leather case color options: yellow and green.
The changes in the XM5 Titanium are limited to the titanium chassis and the revised amplification section, which provides lower output impedance for improved compatibility with certain IEM models.
