FiiO plans to launch desktop and portable amplifiers in 2026, according to the company’s CEO and founder, James Chung. The company has named this amplifier lineup “GIGAS,” a series of headphone amplifiers composed of three products: a portable amplifier, a desktop amplifier, and a dongle for smartphones. According to James, the goal is to deliver high output power with strong cost-effectiveness. See the full details below.
In total, FiiO will release three amplifiers: GIGAS 1, GIGAS 2, and GIGAS 3. The first is a desktop amplifier, the second is a transportable portable amplifier, and the third is a high-output-power DAC/amp dongle.
It is important to note that GIGAS 1 and GIGAS 2 do not include a DAC chip. Therefore, in these cases, it is necessary to use a second device to perform the digital-to-analog conversion or to provide a line out (LO), with conversion and amplification being carried out by that external device.
According to James, the GIGAS 1 is a compact desktop amplifier with high output power. Its design is minimalist, featuring only a single volume control knob and a gain adjustment button. The chassis is made of metal, and power is supplied via a USB port.
Because the GIGAS 1 is a pure amplifier, it must be connected to the analog output of a DAC or to the line out of a DAC/amp. It is also possible to use a computer’s headphone output, as computers include both a DAC and an amplifier internally.
Users can connect wired headphones with 3.5 mm and 4.4 mm connectors. However, the 4.4 mm output is not balanced and is provided solely for convenience.
The release of the FiiO GIGAS 1 is scheduled for July 2026.
According to James, the GIGAS 2 is a high-power portable amplifier that offers only volume control and gain adjustment. Its most notable feature is the removable and replaceable battery; in addition, it can also be used as a power bank to charge other devices as needed. The battery used in the GIGAS 2 is a standard, replaceable 21700 lithium-ion cell.

As with the GIGAS 1, the GIGAS 2 does not include a DAC chip. Therefore, it must be connected to a DAC/amp or an external DAC. To facilitate use, FiiO plans to offer a cable with an integrated DAC and analog output for smartphones and other devices that lack a headphone output. This accessory is expected to serve primarily to provide a 3.5 mm analog output, rather than functioning as a high-power dongle.
The release of the FiiO GIGAS 2 is scheduled for July 2026.
According to James, the GIGAS 3 will be a high-power dongle (portable DAC and amplifier) designed for headphones with low sensitivity and high impedance. In order to achieve a strong cost-performance ratio, it will not feature a display or dedicated physical buttons for volume control.
The release of the FiiO GIGAS 3 is scheduled for July 2026.
