Jade Audio JN3: $25 ANC Headphones with 115h Battery Launched

The Jade Audio JN3 was launched today (26) by FiiO in mainland China and is expected to be made available in international markets in the near future. The new over-ear Bluetooth headphone with active noise cancellation (ANC) is introduced at half the price of the FiiO EH13, which retails for US$50. Below are the full details of this new release from FiiO’s sub-brand.

JN3 launched at half the price of the EH13

The JN3 is priced at only US$25, representing half the cost of the recently released FiiO EH13. Even at this price point, the Jade Audio Bluetooth headphone offers ANC and a battery life of up to 115 hours. In addition, it supports the LDAC audio codec and spatial audio with head tracking.

The main features of the Jade Audio JN3 are detailed below.

Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)

The JN3’s ANC is capable of attenuating noise by up to -35 dB. While it does not match the performance of the EH13, which achieves up to -42 dB, it still provides a meaningful level of noise reduction. In both models, the greatest attenuation occurs in low-frequency noise, which typically consists of continuous and more predictable sounds.

Battery Life

The JN3 offers up to 115 hours of battery life with ANC disabled when using the SBC codec. When ANC is enabled, battery life decreases to approximately 65 hours.

A 5-minute charge provides up to 6 hours of playback. A full recharge of the 1000 mAh battery takes approximately 2 hours.

Supported Audio Codecs

The JN3 supports the LDAC and SBC codecs. However, it does not support aptX or its variants.

Spatial Audio

Similar to the AirPods Max, the Jade Audio JN3 supports spatial audio. It also features head tracking, allowing the sound to dynamically adjust according to head movements.

Preset Equalization Modes

The Jade Audio JN3 allows users to switch between preset equalization profiles:

• Music: tuned for a more natural sound with balanced frequency response.
• Gaming: reduces latency by using the SBC codec to improve audio-video synchronization.
• Bass Boost: emphasizes low frequencies, enhancing bass reproduction in music and films.

Choosing Between the JN3 and EH13

There are several differences between the Jade Audio JN3 and the FiiO EH13 that should be considered. In addition to the slightly less effective ANC on the JN3 and the shorter battery life of the EH13, other factors include:

• The drivers used in the JN3 differ from those implemented in the EH13, resulting in differences in sound quality between the two models.
• Wired connectivity differs: the JN3 requires a USB-C to 3.5 mm cable, whereas the EH13 uses a 3.5 mm to 3.5 mm cable.
• Spatial audio is not available on the FiiO EH13, despite its higher price.
• The JN3 does not support the FiiO Control app, preventing features such as custom equalization. Only the EH13 offers app support.
