The FiiO EH13 was officially launched today (10) on the international market. The EH13 is the second Bluetooth headphone released by FiiO in 2026, arriving approximately two months after the EH11. However, instead of being an on-ear headphone, it adopts an over-ear design and also features active noise cancellation (ANC).

Dynamic driver with sapphire-coated diaphragm

Featuring a sapphire-coated diaphragm, the EH13’s dynamic driver exhibits lower distortion. According to FiiO, sapphire was selected due to its high hardness, surpassed only by diamond. Combined with a suspension system made of PEEK (polyetheretherketone) and PU (polyurethane), distortion has been reduced by 30%, resulting in clearer and more detailed treble reproduction.

Another benefit of the EH13’s sapphire-based driver is the improvement in both bass extension and bass quantity. In addition, the driver design also contributes to the performance of the ANC system, providing a greater sense of silence.

Three levels of active noise cancellation (ANC)

By allowing the user to adjust the level of noise cancellation, the EH13 provides greater listening comfort. At the highest setting, ANC can effectively cancel the noise generated by bus and airplane engines, while the medium level is suitable for studying or working in an office environment.

According to FiiO, the EH13’s ANC system is capable of reducing noise by up to −42 dB. However, it should be noted that the greatest attenuation occurs with low-frequency noise, which typically consists of continuous and more predictable sounds.

Real-time equalization through algorithmic processing

To ensure consistent sound quality for all users, the EH13 employs a DSP algorithm that performs real-time equalization adjustments. This feature compensates for variations caused by the way the headphones rest on the user’s head. In addition, it helps mitigate sound distortions that may be introduced by the ANC system.

Call quality enhanced by ANC technology

To provide greater speech clarity during calls, the EH13 is equipped with five microphones that capture both environmental sounds and the user’s voice. This configuration improves the efficiency of ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation).

Wired and wireless modes

The EH13 can be used both via Bluetooth and with a cable connection. According to FiiO, an “intelligent DSP compensation” feature is employed to minimize differences between wireless and wired playback. This approach aims to maintain a consistent sound signature across both modes of use.

Battery life

According to FiiO, the EH13 can provide up to 75 hours of continuous playback. However, when ANC is activated, this figure decreases to 45 hours. Additionally, the battery requires only two hours to reach a full charge.

Greater portability with foldable design

To allow the EH13 to be stored in its carrying case while occupying less space, FiiO implemented a foldable design that enables the headphones to be compactly folded.

Equalization modes for movies and gaming

Through the FiiO Control app, users can apply different equalization profiles or create their own custom settings. Among the preset options are “Gamer Mode” and “Cinema Mode.”

In Gamer Mode, the sound of the EH13 is adjusted to provide a competitive advantage in games. The equalization emphasizes footsteps and gunshots, enabling players to react more quickly.

In Cinema Mode, the sound is shaped to deliver stronger bass and a more immersive listening experience. Dialogue reproduction is also enhanced, making speech clearer and more intelligible.

Physical controls and LED indicators

The EH13 uses physical buttons rather than touch controls. In total, there are three buttons: one for volume adjustment, one dedicated to ANC, and another for controlling various functions.

The control button is used to power the device on or off, pause or play music, answer or reject calls, and activate the voice assistant.

The LED indicator flashes red and blue when the headphone is in pairing mode. During charging, the LED remains red, and once charging is complete it turns green. When the headphone is used with a cable connection, the LED becomes purple.

On the side of the EH13’s ear cup, the LED turns white when the LDAC codec is in use. If audio is transmitted using SBC, the LED will appear blue.
