The Lotoo Gungnir was officially launched today (the 13th) with the start of its shipments. Although the new DAC/amp from the popular Chinese DAP manufacturer was showcased during the Hong Kong High End Audio show in August 2025, according to a user on the Head-Fi forum, the product has only now begun shipping, as confirmed by Lotoo’s official Facebook page. Check out the features, specifications, and price of the Gungnir below.
Gungnir is the name of Odin’s spear, from Norse mythology, and was chosen to represent the “precision, power, and low distortion” of this desktop DAC/amp.
According to Lotoo, during the development of the Gungnir the goal was to create a compact desktop product that is powerful enough for demanding headphones and flexible enough to be used in different listening scenarios.

The Gungnir uses a dual-DAC design from AKM (Asahi Kasei Microdevices), the AK4499EX. This chip was developed with the concept of “complete separation between digital and analog” in mind, working together with the AK4191, according to its manufacturer.
According to AKM, “when used in conjunction with the AK4191, the AK4499EX is the ideal analog conversion solution for playback of ultra-high-resolution audio sources: up to a 1536 kHz sampling rate in 64-bit PCM, or DSD with a sampling rate of up to 44.8 MHz.”
According to Lotoo, the Gungnir features “physical separation between the power, digital signal, and analog signal domains.” This is achieved through “dedicated analog power supplies and discrete analog circuit modules,” according to the manufacturer.

To allow noise-free use, Lotoo implemented four gain levels to provide precise control over the Gungnir’s output power of up to 8000 mW per channel (at 32 ohms). According to the manufacturer, the DAC/amp is capable of delivering high current and high output voltage while maintaining low distortion across the entire frequency range, ensuring stable performance even under heavy loads (headphones that are difficult to drive properly).
Through the technologies “LCC” (Load Capacitance Compensation), “ATE” (Acoustic Transient Enhancement), and PMEQ II (2nd-generation Parametric Equalizer), Lotoo claims to provide a “complete system-level sound tuning solution,” ranging “from hardware compensation to digital signal shaping.”
LCC handles load matching with the headphones, while ATE uses a filter algorithm to enhance transients. PMEQ II provides parametric equalization.
To provide clean and stable power for the Gungnir, Lotoo launched the “LPX-01” USB power base. With a capacity of 160 W, the LPX-01 delivers an extremely low noise level (200 μV from 20 Hz to 40 kHz). Its chassis is made of metal and features shielding against interference.
This product is not included in the Lotoo Gungnir box and is sold separately for those seeking maximum performance.

Through Lotoo’s LTTP wireless protocol, the Gungnir supports a bitrate of up to 1500 kbps, enabling lossless transmission of CD-quality music (16-bit / 44.1 kHz). To ensure consistency, an integrated data verification system is also included.
Note that to use this technology, it is necessary to purchase separately the “LTTP Wireless Hi-Res Audio Transmitter” from Lotoo, which connects to a smartphone, tablet, or notebook. The Lotoo LTTP Wireless Hi-Res Audio Transmitter costs around US$110.
